Introduction

The JABRA BT100 Bluetooth Headset is a lightweight “over the ear”wireless headset

utilizing Bluetooth technology.The Headset contains a microphone and a speaker, and is

intended for hands free communications with mobile phones. The Headset power is

provided by an integral rechargeable battery. The battery must only be charged with the

supplied charger.

Any device that you want to use with the JABRA BT100 Bluetooth headset has to be

compatible with Bluetooth wireless technology and support the headset profile.To be

able to use the headset with a mobile phone, the phone needs to have built-in Bluetooth

technology, or a compatible Bluetooth phone adapter.

The JABRA BT100 is a cordless handsfree headset based on Bluetooth wireless technology.

Please read the user booklet before you start using the product and make sure that you:

Charge your JABRA BT100 headset for up to 2 hours before you use

it the first time. (See page 7)

•

Make sure that you pair the headset with your Bluetooth phone (or

other device) before you start making calls. (See page 8)

Charging & Battery Time

Before you can use your headset, you need to charge the

headset’s self-contained battery for up to two hours.

To charge the headset, please follow this guide:

1. Insert the travel charger’s electrical

plug into an electrical outlet, or the

in-car charger power socket into

the socket in your vehicle.

2. Plug the mains travel charger

(or in car charger) into your

headset charging port with

the headset facing up.

3. While charging,the blue headset

indicator light is on and remains on

until charging is complete.

4. When charging is complete, the

light will go out, you then remove

the charger from the headset.

Headset Features

1. Blue Indicator Light: provides the status

of the headset (on call, standby).

2. Volume Control: adjusts the speaker

(receive) volume.

3. Multifunction Button (MFB): controls

various functions of the headset.

4. Speaker: receiver for the other party’s voice.

5. Microphone: voice input for transmission.

6. Boom: contains the microphone and controls

the power (on/off) status of the headset.

7. Earhook: how the headset is worn on either

ear (turn around for left/right ear).

functions will only work when attempted with the

last device the headset was connected to.

Please use the following easy to follow guide –

a) Configuration Mode

Before you can pair your headset you need to put it into configuration mode.

Configuration mode is used to perform two functions – ‘pairing’ and Audio mode

selection. Configuration mode is entered simply by pressing and holding down the

Multi-Function Button (MFB) with the headset boom closed until the Blue indicator

light turns on, then release the MFB.The LED will remain on.The headset is now in

configuration mode and stays in this mode for 3 seconds awaiting further user

action.The headset will then return to the “off”state if no further action is taken.

b) Pairing Headset to the Phone

1. With the headset boom closed and the headset close to the phone (within 30

feet), enter configuration mode as described above. During pairing it is

recommended that the headset and phone (or device) are not more than 1metre

(3 feet) apart – with no solid objects in between.

A fully charged battery provides over 4 hours of talk time, over 10 hours of linked standby

time (Bluetooth data link – no audio), 72 hours of unlinked standby time (no Bluetooth

link, boom open) and over 40 days of storage time (boom closed).

Low Battery Warning Tones: When you hear five rapid high tones through the headset’s

speaker at 20-second intervals, the headset needs recharging, and you will then need to

follow the above steps 1-4.

Linking the Headset to the Phone (Pairing)

The Bluetooth connection between the headset and your phone can be established via a

paired link.With a paired link, the phone remembers the headset's ID, eliminating the

need to repeat the set up process with future use.The headset can be paired with up to

eight Bluetooth devices. Devices are stored in a “Paired Device” list in memory by

chronological order. When an attempt to pair to more than eight devices is made, the

oldest paired device is removed from the list.

Any of the eight paired devices can initiate a paired connection to the headset.

The headset will only initiate a paired connection (via opening the boom) with the last

device it was connected to.When a new device is paired to the headset it, by default,

becomes the “last connected”device. Should any other of the eight devices initiate a

connection to the headset afterwards,that device then becomes the “last connected” device.

c) 8 Paired Devices (Audio Mode1/Audio Mode2 Operation)

It is possible for your headset to store pairing data with 8 different Bluetooth devices.

This means that you could have 8 Bluetooth phones paired, or 1 phone and 1 other

device. Operation of the headset in Audio Mode1 will recall the last device that the

headset paired to while in Audio Mode1. Similarly, operation in Audio Mode2 will

recall the last device that the headset paired to while in Audio Mode2.

To toggle between audio modes, simply follow the procedure below.

1. Starting with the boom in the closed position, enter Configuration Mode as described

on page 9.

2. With boom still closed, and the indicator light on solid (indicating Configuration

Mode) press either Volume button.

3. Watch the indicator light (one flash for Audio Mode1 or two flashes for Audio Mode2,

then off).

4. Open boom and verify repeated indicator light flash signal. (Single flash for Audio

Mode1, double flash for Audio Mode2).

5. Now the headset is ready for use in the selected mode, just follow pairing the headset

on page 9.

2. Within the 3 seconds, open the boom.The LED will remain on and the headset is now in

pairing mode and will remain in pairing mode for 5 minutes.

Perform a “device discovery” from the mobile phone. For details on device discovery

consult your phone user guide.Please Note: it may take several seconds to establish

connections.

3. Enter the passkey 0000 , when your phone menu prompts you, and the phone

will start to pair the headset with the phone (the device ID is now stored in the

phone’s memory).

4. Your phone screen will advise that pairing has been successful, and the headset

indicator light flashes to let you know this also.

5. If the pairing is unsuccessful. Please return to step 1 and follow the steps 1-4.

6. Once the headset and phone have successfully paired you are ready to place and

receive calls (see page 15 “Making a Call”).

7. Please note that once paired the first time, the headset automatically connects to your

phone upon opening the boom.

(Note:The default headset pass key is 0000.)

Placing the Headset on your Ear

In order to wear the headset

please follow these instructions:

1. Open the boom.

2. Put the earhook in its

open position (90° away

from the headset).

3. Loop the ear hook

behind your ear.

4. Close the headset

towards your ear.

5. The boom will then point

towards your mouth.

Choose Right or Left Ear Wearing Style

The JABRA BT100 Bluetooth headset comes configured for wearing on your right ear.

To change for left ear wearing please use the simple instructions as follows:

1. Open the boom.

2. Put the earhook in its open position.

3. Gently lift and pull the top of the earhook

up from the upper hinge pin and pull away

to remove.

4. Turn the headset over.

5. Hook the bottom of the earhook on to the

lower hinge pin and lift and pull the top of

the earhook over the upper hinge pin.

6. The Volume Up/Down buttons will re-orient

automatically – so up will always be up, and

down will always be down.

Using your JABRA BT100 Headset

a) Making a call with the headset

There are different ways to make a call using your JABRA BT100 headset. (In each case

you will need to make sure that you pair / link your headset and phone as described

on page 9.)

If your mobile phone supports voice dialing, you can use this feature in most cases

with the headset. Please refer to your phone’s user documentation for more

information on voice control and check whether your phone supports this feature.

Making a call from the Mobile Phone

1. Place the headset on your ear in the desired wearing style.

2. Using the phone’s keypad, dial the phone number.

3. To send the call, press the phone’s SEND / CALL key – the phone initiates the call.

Making a call Using Voice Dialing (Voice dialing on your phone must be turned On

and voice tags stored)

1. Place the headset in the desired wearing style.

2. On the Headset - Press the Multi Function Button. (MFB)

3. A tone prompts you to say the name of the person you wish to call (as entered in

the phone’s voicedial phonebook directory).

Speaker Volume & Volume Control Buttons

To increase the speaker (receive) volume, press and hold the

upper volume control button until the desired level is reached.

To decrease the speaker (receive) volume, press and hold the

lower volume control button until the desired level is reached.

An audible tone is played when either the minimum or

maximum volume has been achieved.

The headset is equipped with intelligent volume re-orientation

control so that it does not matter whether you are wearing the

headset on the left or right ear. When you change the earhook

from right to left wearing style - the top volume control button

will always increase the speaker volume and the bottom

volume control button will always decrease the speaker volume.

Microphone Mute

The JABRA BT100 has a mute, or call hold feature. To hold the call (mute the headset

microphone), press the volume up and the volume down buttons simultaneously.While

the headset microphone is muted, a double tone will be heard in the headset at a period

of every 3 seconds.To disable microphone mute, and return to normal headset operation,

simply depress both volume buttons momentarily again. (The double tone will stop)

d) Receiving/ Answering a call

When wearing the headset - On and Linked:

A ring tone will sound in your headset, just press the headset’s MFB button to answer

the call.

If not wearing the headset – Off position (boom closed):

Open the headset’s boom to auto-answer the call through to the headset, then place

the headset on your ear in the normal wearing position.

e) Transferring a Call

Transferring a call from the headset to your phone:

Must be initiated by the phone (refer to the user guide that accompanied your phone).

Transferring a call from your phone to the headset:

•

Open the boom to activate the Auto-Transfer feature,

•

If boom is already open and the call is on the mobile phone, press the headset’s

MFB button.

4. Speak the voice tag name.

5. The phone automatically dials your selection, and you see the details of the call on

the phone screen.

6. When connected you are free to communicate normally.

(Please refer to the phone’s user guide for instructions on storing voice tags. Some

Mobile Phones need you to initiate voice dialing from the handset.)

b) Ending a call from the headset

To end a call when wearing the headset - press the headset’s MFB button. Also if you

remove the headset – the call can also be ended by closing the boom arm.

c) Disconnecting your Bluetooth link

To terminate the Bluetooth connection between the headset and your phone, turn

the headset Off (just close the boom). If you are on a call when the boom is closed, the

call will be held at the phone for up to 30 seconds while the user is prompted to

transfer the call back to the phone.Without a response by the user, the call will be

terminated after the 30 seconds.

Resetting the headset

If the phone and headset fail to communicate properly, you may need to reset them.To

reset the headset, plug charging jack into headset with charger pulled into appropriate

AC socket.Verify the LED turns on, indicating the start of charging, then remove charging

jack.This resets the headset.

Storage Of Headset

1. Always store the JABRA BT100 with power off and safely protected.

2. Avoid storage at high temperatures (above 60 C / 134F) – such as in a hot vehicle or in

direct sunlight. (Storage at high temperatures can degrade performance and reduce

battery life.)

3. Do not expose the headset or any of its supplied parts to rain or other liquids.

Warranty & Parts Replacement

Battery: The JABRA BT100 is equipped with a rechargeable battery. Replacement must

be done at a qualified service center or returned to the manufacturer. Use only the

battery supplied.

Use only the supplied and approved AC charger.

JABRA (GN Netcom) warrants this product against all defects in material and

workmanship for a period of two years from the date of original purchase.The conditions

of this warranty and our responsibilities under this warranty are as follows:

The warranty is limited to the original purchaser.

•

A copy of your receipt or other proof of purchase is required.Without proof of

purchase, your warranty is defined as beginning on the date of manufacture as

labeled on the product.

•

The warranty is void if the serial number, date code label or product label is removed,

or if the product has been subject to physical abuse, improper installation,

modification, or repair by unauthorized third parties.

•

The responsibility of JABRA (GN Netcom) products shall be limited to the repair or

replacement of the product at it’s sole discretion.

Fonctions du casque Bluetooth

JABRA BT100

Une batterie entièrement chargée assure jusqu’à 4 heures de temps de conversation, plus

de 10 heures d’autonomie en veille connectée (liaison Bluetooth – sans utilisation), 72

heures d’autonomie en veille non connectée (sans liaison Bluetooth, perche micro

allumée) et plus de 40 jours en mode repos (perche micro éteinte).

Avertisseur sonore pour pile faible : lorsque vous entendez retentir cinq signaux sonores

aigus et rapides dans le micro casque à intervalles de 20 secondes, il est impératif de

recharger le casque.Suivez alors les étapes 1 à 4 ci-dessus.

Branchement du casque sur le téléphone

(installation)

La connexion Bluetooth entre votre oreillette et votre téléphone se fait au moyen d’une

liaison couplée. Grâce à cette liaison, le téléphone mémorise l’identifiant de l’oreillette,ce

qui évite de répéter la procédure d’installation lors d’une nouvelle utilisation.L’oreillette

peut être couplée avec un maximum de huit appareils compatibles Bluetooth. Les

appareils sont conservés en mémoire dans une liste “Appareil couplé”par ordre

chronologique. Si l’on essaie de connecter l’oreillette à plus de huit appareils, le plus ancien

appareil couplé est supprimé de la liste.

Chacun des huit appareils couplés peut entrer en relation avec l’oreillette.

Temps de charge et durée de vie

de la batterie

Avant toute utilisation de cet équipement,charger la batterie du casque

(elle est autonome) pendant deux heures.

Pour procéder à la charge, suivez les étapes suivantes :

1. Branchez la fiche secteur du

chargeur de voyage sur une prise

électrique, ou la fiche du chargeur

voiture dans l’allume-cigare de

votre véhicule.

2. Insérez l’autre fiche du chargeur de

voyage (ou du chargeur voiture)

dans le port de l’oreillette, oreillette

face en dessus.

3. pendant toute la durée de la

charge, le voyant bleu reste allumé

4. une fois celle-ci terminée, le voyant s’éteint et

vous pouvez alors ôtez le chargeur du casque.

b) Installation du casque sur le téléphone

1. Laissez le casque à proximité du téléphone (à moins de 10 mètres), en gardant sa

perche micro fermée. Programmez le mode de configuration comme indiqué ci-dessus.

Lors du « pairage », il est recommandé que le casque et le téléphone (ou tout autre

appareil) ne soient pas éloignés de plus d’un mètre de distance,et qu’aucun aucun

objet ne fasse écran.

2. Dans un délai de 3 secondes, ouvrir la perche micro. Le voyant reste allumé et le

casque est en mode configuration. Il le restera pendant une durée de 5 minutes.

Effectuez une « recherche automatique » de périphérique à partir du téléphone

mobile. Pour de plus amples informations sur la recherche automatique de

périphérique, consultez le guide d’utilisation de votre téléphone. Attention : la

connexion peut durer quelques secondes.

3. Saisir le code 0000, lorsqu’un message vous y invite, et le téléphone va alors

commencer l’opération de « pairage » avec le casque (son numéro d’identification est

alors enregistré dans la mémoire du téléphone).

4. L’écran de votre téléphone vous indiquera la fin de l’opération et l’indicateur lumineux

du casque clignotera.

5. Si l’installation a échoué, veuillez reprendre à partir de l’étape 1 et suivez les étapes 1 à 4.

Le casque ne peut entrer en relation (en allumant la tige micro) qu’avec le dernier

appareil auquel il a été connecté. Lorsqu’un nouvel appareil est couplé au casque, par

défaut, il devient le “dernier appareil connecté”. Si par la suite l’un des huit autres

appareils initie une connexion avec le casque, cet appareil devient alors le “dernier

appareil connecté”.

Les fonctions Auto-Answer

™

et Auto-Transfer

™

ne peuvent être utilisées qu’avec le

dernier appareil auquel l’oreillette a été connectée.

Suivez simplement la procédure suivante :

a) Mode de configuration

Avant de pouvoir « pairer » votre casque à un autre appareil, vous devez le

programmer en mode configuration. Ce mode sert à effectuer deux fonctions : le

« pairage » et la sélection en mode Audio.La configuration s’effectue simplement

en appuyant et en maintenant appuyé le bouton multifonctions (MFB), la perche

micro du casque étant en position fermée jusqu’à ce que le voyant bleu s’allume,

puis relâchez le MFB. Le voyant reste allumé.Le casque est alors en mode

configuration. Il y reste pendant 3 secondes en attendant que l’utilisateur

commande d’autres fonctions. Le micro casque se met alors automatiquement en

position « ETEINT », si aucune instruction supplémentaire n’est donnée.

3. Vérifiez le voyant (un clignotement pour le Mode Audio 1 ou deux clignotements

pour le Mode Audio 2, puis les clignotements doivent s’éteindre).

4. Ouvrez la perche micro et vérifiez quel voyant lumineux clignote. (Clignotement

simple pour le Mode Audio 1, double clignotement pour le Mode Audio 2).

5. Le casque est maintenant prêt à être utilisé dans le mode sélectionné. Il suffit de

suivre les indications de « pairage » du casque dans le page 29.

6. Une fois le casque et le téléphone correctement « pairés », vous êtes en mesure de

passer et de recevoir des appels (se reporter au paragraphe « passer un appel »).

casque se connecte automatiquement à votre téléphone dès l’ouverture de la

perche micro.

(Attention : le numéro d’identification du casque par défaut est le 0000).

c) 8 appareils pairés (fonctionnement mode audio 1/mode audio 2)

Votre casque peut conserver en mémoire des données de « pairage » de 8 appareils

Bluetooth. Cela signifie que vous pouvez associer 8 téléphones Bluetooth, ou 1

téléphone et 1 autre appareil. Le fonctionnement du casque en Mode Audio 1 aura

conservé en mémoire le dernier appareil avec lequel le casque aura été

« pairé » en Mode Audio 1. De même, le fonctionnement du casque en Mode Audio 2

aura conservé en mémoire le dernier appareil auquel le casque aura été « pairé » en

Mode Audio 2.

Pour passer d’un mode audio à l’autre, il suffit de suivre la procédure ci-dessous :

1. La perche micro en position fermée, commencez par saisir le Mode Configuration tel

que décrit au page 29.

2. La perche micro toujours fermée, et le voyant allumé en continu (ce qui signale le

Mode Configuration), appuyez sur l’un des boutons Volume.

Placer le micro casque sur l’oreille

Pour placer le micro casque sur la tête,

suivez les instructions suivantes :

1. Ouvrez la perche micro.

2. Placez le contour d’oreille en

position ouverte (à 90° du casque).

3. Ajuster au mieux le contour

derrière votre oreille.

4. Fermez le micro casque

autour de l’oreille.

5. La perche micro doit

s’orienter en direction de

la bouche.

Choisir le port du micro casque sur l’oreille

droite ou sur l’oreille gauche

Le casque Bluetooth JABRA BT100 est pré-configuré pour être porté sur l’oreille droite. Pour

le porter sur l’oreille gauche, suivez les instructions simples mentionnées ci-dessous :

1. Ouvrez la perche micro.

2. Placez le contour d’oreille en position ouverte.

3. Soulevez légèrement et tirez sur la partie

supérieure du contour d’oreille suivant l’axe

d’articulation pour l’enlever du support.

4. Retournez le casque.

5. Accrochez la partie inférieure du contour

d’oreille sur l’axe d’articulation inférieur, puis

soulevez et tirez sur le haut du contour au-

dessus de l’axe d’articulation supérieur.

6. Les boutons Volume +/- se réorientent

automatiquement (de sorte que la touche pour

augmenter le son se trouve toujours en haut et

celle pour le diminuer toujours en bas).

Utilisation du casque JABRA BT100

a) Passer un appel avec le micro casque

Il existe diverses façons de passer un appel à l’aide de votre micro casque JABRA

BT100. (Dans chaque cas, vous devrez vous assurer que votre casque et votre

téléphone sont correctement « pairés » comme indiqué dans le page 29).

Si votre téléphone mobile intègre la numérotation vocale, vous pouvez utiliser cette

fonction avec le casque. Reportez-vous alors au guide d’utilisation du téléphone pour

obtenir de plus amples informations sur la commande vocale.

Passer un appel à partir du téléphone mobile

1. Placez le casque sur votre oreille selon votre confort.

2. A partir du clavier du téléphone, composez le numéro de votre correspondant.

3. Pour transmettre l’appel, appuyez sur la touche TRANSMETTRE/APPELER : le

téléphone lance l’appel.

Passer un appel à l’aide de la numérotation vocale (la numérotation vocale sur

votre téléphone doit être positionnée sur « en marche » et les indicateurs vocaux

doivent être archivés).

Ajuster le volume avec les

touches de commande

Pour augmenter le volume de la réception, appuyez et

maintenez le bouton de commande de volume + jusqu’au

volume désiré. Pour diminuer le volume de la réception,

appuyez et maintenez appuyé le bouton de commande de

volume - jusqu’au volume désiré. Un tonalité audible

retentit lorsque le volume minimal ou maximal est atteint.

Le micro casque est équipé d’une commande de « ré-orientation du volume » intelligente,

peu importe donc que vous le portiez sur l’oreille gauche ou sur l’oreille droite. Lorsque

vous changez le contour d’oreille pour le faire passer de l’oreille droite à gauche : la partie

supérieure du bouton volume augmente toujours le volume et la partie inférieure du

bouton volume diminue toujours le volume.

Désactivation du microphone

Le Jabra BT100 possède une fonction 'secret' pour mise en attente. Pour mettre votre

interlocuteur en attente et couper le microphone, appuyez simultanément sur Volume +

et Volume -.Lorsque le microphone est coupé, une double tonalité est entendue dans le

casque toutes les 3 secondes.Pour réactiver le microphone et repasser en mode

30 secondes tandis que l’utilisateur est invité à re-transférer l’appel sur le téléphone.

Sans réponse de la part de l’utilisateur, l’appel sera terminé au bout de 30 secondes.

d) Répondre à un appel

Lorsque vous portez le micro casque :

en position « marche » et en communication, une tonalité retentit dans votre casque.

Appuyez simplement sur le bouton MFB du casque pour répondre.

Si vous ne portez pas le casque :

position ETEINT (tige micro fermée) ,ouvrez la perche micro du casque pour répondre

automatiquement à l’appel, puis placez normalement le micro casque sur votre

oreille.

e) Transférer un appel

Transfert d’un appel du casque sur le téléphone :

il doit être lancé par le téléphone (se reporter au guide d’utilisation qui accompagne

votre téléphone).

Transfert d’un appel du téléphone sur le casque :

•

ouvrez la perche micro pour mettre en marche la fonction Transfert automatique,

•

Si la perche micro est déjà ouverte et l’appel est sur le téléphone mobile, appuyez

sur le bouton MFB du micro casque.

1. Placez le casque sur l’oreille.

2. Sur le casque : appuyez sur le bouton multifonctions. (MFB)

3. Une tonalité vous invite à prononcer le nom de la personne que vous souhaitez

appeler (telle qu’il a été saisi dans le répertoire téléphonique vocal de l’appareil).

4. Prononcez alors le nom de votre correspondant.

5. Le téléphone numérote automatiquement votre sélection et les informations

relatives à votre appel s’affichent à l’écran.

6. La connexion une fois établie, vous pouvez communiquer normalement

(se reporter au guide d’utilisation du téléphone pour connaître la marche à suivre

pour l’enregistrement des indicateurs vocaux).Certains téléphones mobiles exigent

de lancer la numérotation vocale à partir du combiné).

b) Terminer un appel avec le micro casque

Terminer un appel en portant le micro casque : appuyez sur le bouton MFB du casque.

Si vous enlevez le casque, l’appel peut se terminer automatiquement lorsque vous

refermez la perche micro.

c) Déconnecter de la liaison Bluetooth

Pour terminer la connexion Bluetooth entre le casque et le téléphone,éteignez le

casque (fermez simplement la perche micro).Si vous êtes en communication et que la

perche micro est fermée, l’appel sera maintenu sur le téléphone pendant une durée de
