2. Important information for your safety
The remote start system has been produced in accordance with the
applicable safety rules and regulations. However, hazards may arise
during use. Therefore adhere to the following safety information and
thespecicwarningnoticesintheindividualchapters.
2.1. Intended use
The remote start system allows the remote start feature of a sauna
control unit or steamgenerator to be activated using devices such
as a smartphone, tablet, Alexa, Google Home etc.
The remote start system may only be used for activating a sauna
heater that passes the combustion test described in paragraph 19.101
of EN 60335-2-53. Alternatively, a corresponding safety shutdown
device must be installed in the heater and/or a door contact switch.
Any use exceeding this scope is considered improper use. Improper
use can result in damage to the product, severe injuries or death.

2.2. Safety information
●Installationmayonlybeperformedbyaqualiedelectricianor
similarlyqualiedperson.
●Installation and connection of the control unit may only be per-
formed when the power supply is disconnected.
●Also comply with the regulations applicable at the installation
location.
●The device must not be used by children under 8 years of age.
●The device may only be used by children over 8 years of age,
by persons with limited psychological, sensory or mental capa-
bilities or by persons with lack of experience/knowledge under
the following conditions:
– They are supervised.
– They have been shown how to use the device safely and
are aware of the hazards that could occur.
● Makesurethatnoammableobjectshavebeenplacedonthe
sauna heater before the sauna control unit is switched on.
●Forhealthreasons,donotusethesaunawhenundertheinuence
of alcohol, medication or drugs.
●For your own safety, consult your supplier in the event of prob-
lemsthatarenotexplainedinsucientdetailintheinstallation
instructions.

3.3. Product features
The remote start system allows the remote start feature of a sauna control unit
or steamgenerator to be activated using devices such as a smartphone, tablet,
Alexa, Google Home etc.

An app is used for operation, which is available free of charge for Android
(Google Play Store) and for IOS (App Store).
4. Installation
During installation observe the technical data on Page 15:

5. Connection diagram
Observe the following points when connecting the power to the sauna control unit:
●Connection work may only be performed when the power has been discon-
nected.
●Observe the assembly instructions for the respective control unit
black – K1, ST1 ...........

Remove the pre-assembled cable lugs depending on the controller
used.

6. Commissioning
To activate the remote start, refer to the installation instructions for the respective con-
trol unit. Once all cables have been connected, the remote start system can be used.
The devices (mobile phone and remote start system) must be part of the same
network.
●Open Play Store and install the app “Shelly Cloud”
●After opening, perform the following steps:
- Select language
- Create new user (account)

- Set password
- Select “Create user account” (at rst installation)
or “I have an account”.
Aconrmationwillappearthatthishasfunctioned.
Nowloginwithyourpasswordandconrmthegeneraltermsandcondi-
tions once again.
Be careful when entering your email address when registering,
as this will be required if you forget your password.
In case you have forgotten your password, simply enter the email
address you used when you registered. You will then be given
instructions on how to change the password.
ATTENTION!!
Damage to the unit!
Before starting “6. Commissioning” and “7. Operation”, check that the units are
suppliedwithvoltage–however,thesaunacontrollermustbeswitchedo!

7. Operation
After registration, you create a room.
Room name (e.g: sauna) and assign an image to the room. A photo from your
gallery can also be used as a picture.
Press Add device and start searching for a new device.
Follow the instructions on the device (enable location access, select WiFi, enter
password, etc.). The devices (mobile phone and remote start system) must be
part of the same network.

8. Troubleshooting
Error Description
The remote start system cannot establish the connection to the WLAN.
Troubleshooting
Resetting the remote start system to factory settings:
• The remote start system must be supplied with voltage
• Switch the control unit ON / OFF 5 times - within 30 seconds
Reset to factory setting FOR SPECIALIST PERSONNEL ONLY:
• The remote start system must be supplied with voltage
• Controlunitmustbeswitchedo
• Measuring device on setting [A]
• Short-circuit the black and brown lines of the remote start system 5 times -
within 30 seconds
9. Maintenance
The device is maintenance-free.
●Please dispose of packaging materials in accordance with
the applicable disposal regulations.
●Used units contain reusable materials as well as hazardous
substances. Therefore, do not dispose of your used unit with
household waste, but rather do so in accordance with the locally
applicable regulations.

2. Wichtige Hinweise zu Ihrer Sicherheit
Das Fernstart-System ist nach anerkannten sicherheitstechnischen
Regeln gebaut. Dennoch können bei der Verwendung Gefahren
entstehen. Befolgen Sie deshalb die folgenden Sicherheitshinweise
und die speziellen Warnhinweise in den einzelnen Kapiteln.
2.1. Bestimmungsgemäßer Gebrauch
Das Fernstart-System ermöglicht das Schalten des Fernstartes
einer Sauna-Steuerung bzw. eines Dampfgenerators über Geräte
wie Smartphone, Tablet, Alexa, Google home etc.
Der Fernstart-System darf nur zum Schalten eines Saunaofens, der
die Abdeckprüfung nach Absatz 19.101 der EN 60335-2-53 besteht,
verwendet werden. Alternativ muss eine entsprechende Sicherheits-
abschaltung beim Ofen und/oder ein Türsensor installiert werden.
Jeder darüber hinausgehende Gebrauch gilt als nicht bestimmungs-
gemäß. Nicht bestimmungsgemäßer Gebrauch kann zur Beschä-
digung des Produkts, zu schweren Verletzungen oder Tod führen.
2.2. Sicherheitshinweise
●Die Montage darf nur durch eine Elektrofachkraft oder eine ver-
gleichsweisequaliziertePersonausgeführtwerden.
●Montage- und Anschlussarbeiten an die Steuerung dürfen nur
im spannungsfreien Zustand durchgeführt werden.
●Beachten Sie auch die örtlichen Bestimmungen am Aufstellort.
●Stellen Sie sicher, dass keine brennbaren Gegenstände auf dem
Saunaofen liegen, bevor Sie die Saunasteuerung einschalten.
●Das Gerät darf nicht von Kindern unter 8 Jahren verwendet
werden.
