OPERATION
Check the jack before each use carefully for damages or wear and test it without load. If the
jack is damaged or does not work, do not use it before the problem has been fixed.
Preparing the vehicle for the lift
-
Consult the vehicle owner’s manual for safety precautions, jacking procedure, vehicle
weight, recommended jack type, location of the lifting areas on the vehicle and other
necessary information.
-
Apply the vehicle’s parking brake and the lowest gear (P position with automatic gear
box). Turn the vehicle engine off.
-
Use wheel chocks on both sides (front and rear) of the wheels that are not lifted.
-
Make sure that no one is inside the vehicle that is lifted.
-
Ensure safety distance of at least 0.5 meters between the vehicle and static objects such
as doors, walls etc.
-
Check that the load is correctly positioned on the lifting arm and the lifting point is sta-
ble.
-
Do not allow the vehicle to move while supported by the jack, and do not use the jack to
move the vehicle.
-
If you use the jack for changing tyres, loosen the bolts already prior to lifting. Also check
the tyre pressure before starting.
Lifting
1. Use the handle (C) to pull the direction latch (D) up until it clicks into place.
2. Hold the beam (F) steady and pull the lifting lever (E) downward (or forward if used hori-
zontally).
3. Continue to pump the lever.
4. When the load is lifted to the required height, set the lever in the upright position and
engage the clip (G) onto the beam.
5. Insert a 12 mm high-strength bolt (not supplied) through the hole immediately below the
lifting mechanism to act as a safety pin and position the jack stands in place.
6. To lower the load, push the direction latch down (D) using the handle (C) and pump the
lever. NOTE! The load must be at least 75 kg to activate the lowering step by step. Oth-
erwise the load will drop suddenly.
Working with a lifted vehicle
- Working near a lifted vehicle is dangerous. Never move the jack while it is supporting a
vehicle. Avoid working under a lifted vehicle or placing any part of your body beneath it.
Keep in mind torque forces when loosening bolts or nuts for example, as a sudden move
could cause the vehicle to drop from the jack stands. Do not try to start a lifted vehicle.
- If the jack breaks down or gets stuck while the vehicle is supported, properly positioned
jack stands are strong enough to support the vehicle. In this case replace the jack with
another jack, remove the faulty jack and lower the vehicle using extreme caution. Do not
use the faulty jack until it has been repaired.
MAINTENANCE
The jack does not require any special maintenance but it must be kept well lubricated. In-
spect the jack before each use for damages and cracks. Do not use it if it is not in proper
condition. Front and back of the beam must be kept rust-free. Do not use if rusted.
