1. What is DLM2?
DLM2 (Download Manager 2) is one of Thecus’ most praised features. With DLM2,
users can download files directly from the Internet and store them on Thecus NAS
devices without the need turn on their PC, saving both time and money.
In this Quick User Guide, you will learn how to perform download tasks and the
settings for the different download utilities supported in DLM2 (BT, eMule and
HTTP).
The DLM2 module is currently available at the Thecus Download Centre.

1. Installing DLM2 module
After downloading the DLM2 module from Thecus Download Centre, please log in to
the Web GUI and click on Module management followed by Module Installation.
Next, click on the add module icon on the right hand side of the page to locate
the DLM2 module file from your computer, and then click “Install” to proceed with
the installation.
When completed, please click on to enable the DLM2 module.

2. Getting Started
After installing and enabling the DLM2 Module on Thecus NAS, please click on
DLM2 under Module Management > System Module in the menu tree.
The DLM2 Main Page will appear in a new window as below:

3. BT (BitTorrent)
Step 1- Configuration
Click on “Setting” on the DLM2 Main Page to enter the BT Configuration Page.
On this page, you will see the following settings:
Download Folder: Select the folder to store the downloaded files.
Torrent Range: 9000~9200 is the default Torrent Range.
Upload Rate Limit: Set the maximum speed limit when uploading files.
Download Rate Limit: Set the maximum speed limit when downloading files.
Max Uploads: Set the limit of files to be uploaded.
Max Connections: Set the limit on total connections allowed, both download and
upload.
* Settings that are set to -1 by default mean no limit.
Next, please click on “Save” to confirm your settings and click on “Main Menu” to
return to the DLM2 Main Page.

Step 2 - Setup New Session
On the DLM2 Main Page, click on “Enter” next to the word “BT” and the Setup
New Session Page will appear as below.
On the page you will see the below settings:
Attach: The Attach Multiple Session function has been disabled; only one session can
be created.
Encryption: Tick to hide the source provider
DHT: Tick to enable DHT support
Seed limit%: Set the maximum limit of the downloading files for other people to
download.
Seed timeout minutes: Set the timeframe to discontinue download task if the seed
does not respond or when errors have occurred.
*The Setup New Session Page will only be displayed once for configuration
purposes; it will not display again the next time you enter BT from the Web UI. You
will be able to change these settings again on the BT Download Control Panel.
Next, please click on “Setup” to enter the BT Download Control Panel.

Step 3- Add New BT Download Tasks.
The BT Download Control Panel should appear as below:
To add new BT download tasks, simply click on the “Browser” button on the top
right hand corner to insert the torrent file and click on the “Uploadbutton to initiate
the task. The page will appear as below:
Once the task starts, you may click on the file name under the word Torrent to display
detailed information on the download task and various setting options.
Please see the below descriptions of the buttons and settings:

Buttons:
Browser: Click to add torrent file
Upload: Click to start download task
Hide all details: Hide detailed information about the download task
Clean all: Clean all completed download tasks
Stop: Pause download task
Start: Restart download task
Abort: Cancel download task permanently
Refresh Now: Refresh download task status
Stop update: Discontinue page from updating information
Settings:
Upload Limit (KB/s): Set maximum upload speed limit.
Download Limit (KB/s): Set maximum download speed limit.
Seed Limit %: Set the maximum limit of the downloading files for others to
download.
Seed Timeout (minutes): Set the timeframe to discontinue download task if the seed
does not respond or when errors have occurred.
*Once the download task has been completed, the downloaded files will be stored in
the Download Folder previously selected in the BT Configuration Page.
*Please remember to click on the “Clean All” button for the system to refresh and
transfer all the downloaded files into the Download Folder.

4. eMule
Step 1 - Configuration
On the DLM2 Page, click on “setting” next to the word “eMule” to enter the eMule
Configuration Page:
On this page, users can select which folder to store the downloaded files.
Next, click on “Save” to confirm and click on “Main Menu” to return to the DLM2
Main Page.
Step 2 – Setting up eMule
On the DLM2 Main Page, please click on “eMule” to enter the eMule Control
Panel. On the panel, there are 8 icons.
Please see the below descriptions of each icon.
Download List
Click on this icon to display detail information on the download tasks

Search Module
On the page, users can search files to download according to various criteria.
Server List
Users can connect or disconnect from existing servers or add new servers by typing in
IP or Address, Port and Name of the server.
Share Files
On this page, users can manage their shared files and view detailed information about
the shared files. All files stored under Download Folder are Shared Files.
Stats
Click to display detailed connection and download task status.
Preference
Click to set download preferences on eMule.
Log
Click to view system log.
Server Info
Click to view detailed information on the current server status

Step 3 – Connect to a Server
It is important to make sure that you are connected to a server before adding any new
eMule download tasks.
Click on the Server List icon and the page will appear as below:
On this page, you can add new servers by typing in the IP or Address, Port and Name.
Remember to click on the Connect to Server
icon found underneath the
word Actions.
Step 4 –Add New eMule Download Tasks
There are two ways which you can add new eMule Download Tasks.
1. You may insert the eMule source file link in the address bar on the center of the
eMule Control Panel and click on the “Download link” button to initiate a
download task.

2. You may search for the files you want to download
using the Search
Module function.
Click on the Search Module icon and the page should appear as below:
On the eMule search page, you can type in the file name and set the criteria to search
for the file you want to download. Once you have found the desired file, simply click
on the Download button and the download task will initiate automatically.
Next, you can click on the Download List icon
to see the status of the
download tasks as shown below:

5. HTTP/FTP
Adding and initiating New Download Tasks
On the DLM2 Main Page, please click on “HTTP/FTP” to enter the HTTP/FTP
Control Panel.
To add new download tasks, click on the “add” button situated below the Control
Panel, the add task page should appear as below:
Connection: users can split the download file using up to 4 connections to increase
download speed.
Folder: select the folder to store the downloaded files.
Next, insert the http or ftp link in the “File Link” field, when completed, please click
on “Apply” to initiate the download task. The page will automatically return to the
HTTP/FTP Control Panel as shown below:

Please see the below descriptions of each button:
Select Task: Select the task previously added on the add task page
Start: Click on this button to start the download task
Stop: Stop downloading task
Remove: Delete download task permanently
Info: When errors occurred, you can click on this button to find out more details.
