BOTH the amplier and any cable modem in your installation MUST
be TURNED OFF during the entire installation. Also refer to section 6.
Please read this quick guide thoroughly before installing your new indoor
cable television distribution amplier.
The amplier is for use by consumers who have cable TV or a private an-
tenna connection, where there is a need to distribute the signal to several
rooms / connection sockets or to amplify the signal. The two variants, IFA
284 and IFA 288 can distribute TV/radio signals to 4 and 8 TV sets and/or
radios, respectively
The amplier is approved for use with YouSee Ready and Stofa Approved
installations, and supports radio, TV and internet via cable television distri-
bution, from all sockets.
The amplier can be wiped down with a dry or slightly damp cloth, but
should not be exposed to direct water or moisture.
The amplier should be fastened securely with screws on a non-combus-
tible wall via the two middle screw-holes on either side of the base unit.

Safety
NOTE: If the amplier is placed further away from an electrical outlet
than the xed cord is able to reach, use an approved network extension
cord or let a qualied electrician connect the power. TV can be watched
once the installation of the amplier is completed, connected to the
mains and turned on.
Connection to
the grid
NOTE: Find a suitable location to position the amplier. We recommend plac-
ing it in the immediate vicinity of the rst antenna outlet in your house/
apartment and near apower outlet. We suggest installing approx. 120 mm
above the floor ( optional).

Damage due to improper installation and commissioning, defective connectors on cables or any

Private antenna
If you use the amplier with a private antenna where no wall outlet plate is
installed, then connect the cable coming from the selective antenna amplier
directly to the input of the amplier. Try and keep the cable as short as possible
and install the amplier where there is easy access to a power outlet.
If you have multiple connections in your apartment/house, we recommend
you review the examples on the flappage or download them from:

Mark the screw holes on the wall, 230 mm apart (Figure 1a-b-c-d).
Ensure the holes are placed at least 120 mm above the floor or skirting board
so that there is adequate space for the antenna and mains cabling.

Remember to calculate the necessary space for good cable management.
Antenna cables SHOULD NOT be sharply bent around corners which may
cause signal interference. Always ensure the antenna cables are not bent
to a radius of less than 35 mm (min. 5 x cable thickness)
min.

the gures.To prevent interference to your TV

Signal out
IFA 284 has four signal outputs. IFA 288 has 8 signal outputs.
The ampliers use self- terminated output connectors which eliminates the
need for additional termination of unused outputs.
Assemble an F-connector at one end of the
cable at the amplier’s input .
Remember to read the instructions about
assembling connectors.

Distribution
Run cable from the amplier outputs, labelled , to the required location of
your TV or radio. You may choose to use an IEC connector for direct connec-
tion to a TV (IEC male) or FM radio (IEC female), or you may end in an antenna
socket from which you can connect a TV or radio via a connection cable. The
end of the distribution antenna cable, which is connected to the amplier, must
be tted with an F-connector (as shown previously) and attached to the ampli
-
er output(s)
.

The ampliers have two different adjustment options via 3-click switches:
Tilt/Slope: (basic conguration = 0dB), 6 and 12dB amplies the
higher channel numbers more than lower channel numbers. Use this for
the higher channels if you have poor quality.
Attenuator: (basic conguration = 6dB), 0 and 12 dB turn the signal
strength UP or DOWN, respectively. Use this if the signal is poor on all
channels.
Adjustment
The Power
Only once all of the antenna cables are connected at both ends can you
connect the amplier’s (and a possible cable modem’s) power
cable to the AC outlet, and turn on the power. A green light
will show the amplier is working
Place the white lid over the amplier. Your TV amplier installation is now
complete.You can watch TV and listen to the radio via the connected
devices, subject to the signal your cable TV/communal antenna supplier
or private antenna delivers. If the appliances have never previously been
in operation, you will need to conduct a channel scan rst to get the
available radio and television channels.
Conclusion
If after installation you experience problems which can be attributed to
the amplier, please check the installation instructions on the previous
page (or TRIAX’s website) have been followed correctly.
If the problem persists, please contact an authorised TRIAX dealer who
will be able to guide you through the installation, at your own cost. If it
is assessed the product is defective, the general rules of the guarantee
and warranty will be applicable. In this instance, you should , always send
your enquiry to the store from which you purchased the product.
Service
Your IFA 284/288 is subject to the WEEE and RoHS EU directives and must
be disposed of via authorised recycling centres which provide the disposal
units for e-waste or other authorised electronic return organisations.

Læs denne quick-guide helt igennem inden du installerer din nye indendørs
kabel tv distributions forstærker.
Forstærkeren anvendes af forbrugere, der har kabel-tv eller egen antenne
tilslutning, hvor der er behov for fordeling af signalet til flere rum eller stikdåser,
eller hvor der er et generelt behov for at forstærke signalet.
De to varianter IFA 284 og IFA 288 kan fordele tv/radio signaler til hhv.
4 og 8 tv apparater og/eller radio.
Forstærkeren er godkendt til anvendelse i YouSee Ready og Stofa Approved
installationer og understøtter radio, tv såvel som internet-via-kabel tv fordeling
på alle stik.
Forstærkeren kan tørres af med en tør eller let fugtig klud, men må ikke
udsættes for direkte vand– og fugt-påvirkning.
Forstærkeren bør fastgøres forsvarligt med skruer på en lodret ikke brændbar
væg via de to midterste skruehuller på hver side af basis-enheden.
Aftag først dækslet så forstærkerens basis-enhed med stik og strømforsyning
bliver synlig og tilgængelig .

BEMÆRK: Hvis forstærkeren placers længere væk fra en stikkontakt
end den fastmonterede netledning rækker, skal du benytte en godkendt netfor-
længerledning, eller lade en autoriseret el-installatør forestage strømtilslutningen.
Forstærkeren skal først efter montering tilsluttes el-nettet og være tændt før du
kan se tv.

Egen antenne
Benytter du forstærkeren sammen med egen antenne er det ikke sikkert du
har en stikdåse monteret. Du kan da tilslutte antennekablet som kommer
fra fællesantennen direkte til indgangen på forstærkeren, sådan at kablet fra
fællesantennen bliver så kort som mulig og hvor der er lettest adgang til en
stikkontakt.

Forstærkerne har 2 forskellige justerings muligheder via 3-klik omskiftere:
Tilt/Slope: (grundindstilling = 0dB), 6 og 12dB forstærker de høje kanal
numre mere end de lave. Brug denne hvis du har dårlig kvalitet kun på de
højeste kanaler.
Attenuator: (grundindstilling = 6dB), 0 og 12 dB skruer henholdsvis OP
eller NED for signalstyrken. Brug denne hvis signalet generelt er dårligt på
alle kanaler.
Justering
Tilslut strøm
Først når alle antenne kabler er færdige og tilsluttede i begge ender, skal
du tilslutte forstærkerens (og et eventuel kabel modems) net ledning til
stikkontakten, og tænde for strømmen. En grøn lampe lyser for at vise
at forstærkeren arbejder.
Påsæt det hvide låg over forstærkeren.
Din tv forstærker installation er nu tilendebragt, og du kan se tv og høre
radio på de tilsluttede apparater betinget af det signal din kabel-tv/
fællesantenne leverandør eller egen antenne leverer. Har apparaterne ikke
før været i drift, skal du først foretage en kanal skanning for at få anlæg-
gets radio og tv kanaler tilgængelige.

MOLEMMAT, vahvistin ja mikä tahansa kaapelimodeemi asennuksessa,
EIVÄT saa olla KYTKETTYNÄ verkkovirtaan asennuksen aikana.

Lue tämä käyttöopas huolellisesti läpi ennen sisäkäyttöisen kaapelitelevi-
sion jakovahvistimen asennusta.
Vahvistin on tarkoitettu kuluttajille, joilla on kaapelitelevisio tai yksityinen
antenniliitäntä, ja joiden tarvitsee jakaa signaali useaan huoneeseen/pisto-
rasiaan, tai vahvistaa signaalia. Kaksi vahvistinversiota, IFA 284 ja IFA 288,
voivat jakaa TV-/radiosignaaleja neljään (4) ja kahdeksaan (8) televisioon
ja/tai radioon.
Vahvistimet on hyväksytty käytettäväksi yhdessä YouSee Ready- ja Stofa
Approved -asennusten kanssa, ja ne tukevat radiota, televisiota ja inter-
netiä kaapelitelevision kautta, kaikista pistokkeista.
Vahvistimet voidaan pyyhkiä puhtaaksi kuivalla tai hieman kostealla
liinalla, mutta niitä ei saa altistaa suoraan vedelle tai kosteudelle.
Vahvistimet tulee kiinnittää varmasti ruuveilla palamattomaan seinään
kahden keskellä sijaitsevan ruuvinreiän kautta pohjaosan kummallekin
puolelle. Tämä onnistuu irrottamalla vahvistimen kansi.

HUOM: Mikäli vahvistin sijoitetaan kauemmaksi kuin virtajohdon pituuden

jatkojohtoa, tai antaa pätevän sähkömiehen suorittaa liitäntä.
Televisiota voi katsoa, kun vahvistimen asennus on viety loppuun, se
yhdistetty verkkovirtaan ja kytketty päälle.

Yksityinen antenni
Jos käytät vahvistinta yksityisen antennin kanssa, jolloin seinäpistorasiaa ei
ole asennettu, yhdistä valikoivasta antennivahvistimesta tuleva johto suoraan
vahvistimen sisääntuloon. Pyri pitämään johdot mahdollisimman lyhyinä ja
asenna vahvistin paikkaan, josta on helppo pääsy virtapistokkeelle.

Vahvistimissa on kaksi eri säätömahdollisuutta kolmivaiheisilla katkaisijoilla:
Kallistus/Kulma: (peruskokoonpano = 0dB), 6 ja 12dB vahvistaa
korkeampia kanavanumeroita enemmän kuin matalampia. Käytä tätä
korkeampiin kanaviin, mikäli signaalin laatu on huono.
Vaimennin: (peruskokoonpano = 6dB), 0 ja 12 dB muuttaa signaalin
voimakkuutta. Käytä tätä, jos signaali on huono kaikilla kanavoilla.
Säätäminen
Virta
Vasta sitten, kun kaikki antennijohdot on yhdistetty molemmista
päistä, voidaan vahvistimen (ja mahdollisen kaapelimodeemin)
virtajohto kytkeä verkkovirtaan ja virta käynnistää.

Mikäli tuote todetaan vialliseksi, yleisiä takuusääntöjä sovelletaan,

Cleaning
BOTH the amplier and any cable modem in your installation MUST
be TURNED OFF during the entire installation. Also refer to section 6.
Please read this quick guide thoroughly before installing your new indoor
cable television distribution amplier.
The amplier is for use by consumers who have cable TV or a private an-
tenna connection, where there is a need to distribute the signal to several
rooms / connection sockets or to amplify the signal. The two variants, IFA
284 and IFA 288 can distribute TV/radio signals to 4 and 8 TV sets and/or
radios, respectively
The amplier is approved for use with YouSee Ready and Stofa Approved
installations, and supports radio, TV and internet via cable television distri-
bution, from all sockets.
The amplier can be wiped down with a dry or slightly damp cloth, but
should not be exposed to direct water or moisture.
The amplier should be fastened securely with screws on a non-combus-
tible wall via the two middle screw-holes on either side of the base unit.

NOTE: If the amplier is placed further away from an electrical outlet
than the xed cord is able to reach, use an approved network extension
cord or let a qualied electrician connect the power. TV can be watched
once the installation of the amplier is completed, connected to the
mains and turned on.

NOTE: Find a suitable location to position the amplier. We recommend plac-
ing it in the immediate vicinity of the rst antenna outlet in your house/
apartment and near apower outlet. We suggest installing approx. 120 mm
above the floor ( optional).
