LAITTEEN ESITTELY
Tämän poratalttalaitteen avulla pystyt muuntamaan pylväsporakoneen talttaporakoneeksi ja tekemään nelikulmaisia
reikiä ja upotuksia puukappaleisiin tavallisella pylväsporakoneella. Tätä poratalttalaitetta tulee käyttää kapasiteetiltaan
vähintään 16mm:n avainistukan kanssa.
KÄYTETTÄVÄT ONTTOTALTAN JA PORANTERÄN YHDISTELMÄT
Käytä ainoastaan alla olevan taulukon mukaisia onttotalttojen ja poranterien yhdistelmiä. Sekä onttotalttojen että
poranterien on oltava teräviä. Mikäli jompikumpi on tylsä, syntyy tästä liiallista kitkaa ja kuumentumista, mikä vaurioittaa
laitetta ja työstettävää kappaletta.

TALTTAPORANTERÄN PIDIKKEEN ASENNUS KAULUKSEEN
1. Asenna talttaporanterän pidike (A) kaulukseen. Talttaporanterän
pidikkeeseen ruuvattavan sormiruuvin (F) tulee osoittaa pylväsporakoneen
pylväästä poispäin.
2. Kiristä ruuvi ja mutteri (B) riittävän kireälle, ettei osa pääse luiskahtamaan
pois paikoiltaan.
ONTTOTALTAN JA PORANTERÄN ASENNUS
1. Sovita poranterä (C) taltan (D) läpi avainistukkaan (E). Kiinnitä taltta (D)
sellaiselle korkeudelle, että sen olkapään yläpinta jää noin 0,8mm pidikkeen
alapuolelle ja kiristä sormiruuvia (F) kevyesti. Työnnä poranterää (C)
ylöspäin taltan läpi niin pitkälle kuin se menee ja kiristä sitten istukka
huolellisesti.
2. Löysää hieman sormiruuvia (F) ja työnnä talttaa (D) ylöspäin aiemmin jäljelle jääneen 0,8mm:n verran. Kiristä
lopuksi sormiruuvi (F) huolellisesti. Tämä menetelmä varmistaa asianmukaisen etäisyyden saamisen poranterän
leikkuusärmien ja taltan kärkien välille.
ASENNUS PYLVÄSPORAKONEEN PÖYTÄÄN
1. Pylväsporakoneen pöytään on suositeltavaa asentaa 1/2” vanerilevy. Aseta vanerilevy vasteen alle ja poraa
vanerilevyyn kiinnitysreiät pylväsporakoneen pöydän aukkoja vastaaviin kohtiin. Vanerilevy estää talttaporanterää
vaurioitumasta, mikäli se osuu vahingossa pöytään. Lisäksi se on yksinkertainen tapa suurentaa työskentelypöydän
kokoa.
2. Laitteen mukana toimitetut pultit ovat riittävän pitkät kattamaan vanerilevyn, vasteen ja jalustan paksuuden. Aseta
pultteihin (12) aluslevyt (7) ja vie pultit pylväsporakoneen pöydän alapuolelta vanerilevyn, vasteen (11) ja jalustan
(9) läpi. Aseta pultteihin aluslevyt (7) ja kiinnitä huolellisesti siipimuttereilla (6).

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
This mortising attachment converts a drill press into a mortising machine, enabling you to make square holes and
recesses into wood with a standard drill press. This mortising attachment is used with a key chuck with minimum
capacity of 16mm.
APPLICABLE MORTISING CHISEL AND BIT COMBINATIONS
Use only combinations of mortising chisels and bits as in the chart below. Both of these tools must be sharp. If either
one is dull, there will be excessive friction and heat which will damage the appliance and workpiece.

MOUNTING THE CHISEL HOLDER ON THE QUILL
1. Mount the chisel holder (A) on the quill. The threaded knob (F) in the chisel
holder should face away from the drill press column.
2. Tighten the screw and nut (B) enough to hold the attachment from slipping.
INSTALLING THE MORTISING CHISEL AND BIT
1. Insert the bit (C) through the chisel (D) into the key chuck (E). Clamp the
chisel (D) at such height that the upper face of its shoulder remains about
0,8mm below the holder and tighten the threaded knob (F) lightly. Push the
bit (C) up through the chisel as far as it will go and fasten the chuck securely.
2. Loosen the threaded knob (F) slightly and push the chisel (D) upward to
take up the 0,8mm space previously left. Then tighten the threaded knob (F)
securely. This method assures having the proper clearance between the
cutting lips of the bit and points of the chisel.
MOUNTING ON THE DRILL PRESS TABLE
1. We recommend installing a 1/2” plywood panel on the drill press table. Insert the plywood under the fence and drill
mounting holes in the plywood to match the slots in the drill press table. The plywood panel prevents damage to
the mortising chisel if it should strike the table by accident. It is also a simple method of increasing the size of the
table.
2. The bolts supplied with this attachment are long enough to hold the plywood panel as well as the fence and base.
Add washers (7) onto the bolts (12) and insert the bolts through the slots in the drill press table from below and
pass them through the plywood panel, fence (11) and base (9). Add washers (7) onto the bolts and fasten securely
with wing nuts (6).
